Har-Mar, Inc. is the parent company of Slawik Property Advisors and Slawik Properties. Widely known for developing and previously owning the namesake shopping mall, one of the first in the U.S., Har-Mar, Inc. has built an enduring legacy in the 80 years since Harold and Marie Slawik first incorporated their real estate and business holdings.

From signature mixed-use corners, industrial, office, and medical to residential and retail properties, the company has driven a history of real estate and business firsts.

Our History

1920s

Harold Slawik establishes a bicycle repair shop in St. Paul and begins to purchase real estate properties

1940

Har-Mar, Inc. is formed, combining Harold + Marie Slawik’s names

1950

Har-Mar is known for not only owning, but also developing, managing, insuring, advertising, financing, buying and selling properties along St. Paul’s main business thoroughfares

1957

Har-Mar purchases large parcels of land in Roseville for future development, with the vision to bring large-scale retail centers out from city centers to suburban families

1997

Brien Slawik assumes leadership of Har-Mar as President and CEO, leading the company into its third generation

1998

Har-Mar sells its former industrial land in the Midway to two non-profit organizations that benefit the community, provide employment and invest in quality of life for thousands of people

2015

Marie Slawik is inducted posthumously into the Minnesota Women Business Owners’ Hall of Fame

2019

Har-Mar, Inc. launches its 10th division, Slawik Property Advisors
